He's growing up...

and he can SERIOUSLY stop at any time!

This past week I've noticed that Avery can do quite a few things that I never knew he could!

Yesterday at my dr's appointment I saw him take out a juice box. Mind you I'm up on the table talking to the dr, so it wasn't like I could rush it out of his hands. Plus I didn't think he could open it...well I was wrong! Next thing I hear is "gulp gulp". He managed to open the straw and poke it through the hole...this is something I struggle with sometimes, but he did it on the first shot! The straw was in backwards at first, but he quickly flipped it around! He then proceeded to finish it off...it was only a little one!

Last night he climbed the stairs all by himself holding a stuffed puppy and a book...Keith thought that he would hold on like he usually does, but he didn't. Up he went without a struggle. 3 books and 3 songs later he was finally tucked in for the night.

Today I had the kids make valentine's. I gave them red and white paint and their choice of paper(red, white, or pink) Avery liked the pink the best. He picked white once and I handed it to him and he refused it so I asked him to pick again...pink! he mixed the paint to make pink which i knew would happen and that was fine. I then took out some foam stickers I had so they could try their hands at that. Avery was able to pull the sticker back off and stick them to the paper! I had to limit them on the stickers as they were getting a big sticker crazy!

He has been very nice to J today despite J not always being nice to him! I tend to give avery extra snacks if he asks for them b/c he's such a peanut. Lately, he has been making sure J gets some too...not that he needs it, but at least Avery is being a good friend! He will ask for a bowl for "j" and if I don't I get one unhappy kid. Today they were able to sit next to each other in the SAME chair after avery patted the chair and said his name. I took the opportunity to take a picture as this doesn't happen often. They went on like this for at least 15 mins. Its nice to see them like this after such a long week of TORTURE!

it's always great to see your kiddo growing up and maturing (even if we wish they'd stop sometime soon!)
