Adventures in Toddlerhood

I have to say that yesterday was one of the best days I have had in a very looong time!(although i did have a very nice weekend with the girls, but this was on a mommy level)

Anyway, I only had one other baby yesterday and he left at 8:30. So I decided to take Avery to the zoo. We have a small zoo about 20 mins from us and I had never been there. Plus yesterday was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous, sunny, and warm(70). It was so nice to be outside for a good part of the day. I haven't decided how I feel about this zoo yet, but avery and i did have the place to our selves for a quite a while. We saw lots of monkeys, goats, llamas, giraffe, zebra, and other animals. My favorite was the little baby donkey...
he was so cute! I felt bad for some of the animals as you could buy food to feed them. They all sat at the feeding tubes waiting for food. I did buy one bag and feed the goats, and llamas, but i could afford to feed them all. I assume that they don't get fed huge amounts seen as people are allowed to feed them. after all who would want a fat llama? (btw, llamas are very ugly up close, so are osterichs!)
Avery had a blast mostly on the swing. I made the mistake of putting him in it before we saw the rest of the zoo. From the expressions you might think he was on a huge amusement ride...but it was only a swing. Keith called while we were there and could hear him laughing!

After the zoo, we went and grabbed a nice healthy lunch at the deli. I had a chicken breast sand and a fruit cup, avery had turkey and cheese, and we grabbed lunch for daddy too(not so healthy). While at the deli, he flirted with all the woman. We went and had lunch with Keith at work. After lunch, we went to Bj's, mind you at this point we are past avery's nap. But he is the kind of kid that doesn't get cranky when he's tired...well sometimes. So we got what we needed and headed home.

Don't you know he falls asleep when we hit the road to our house? we had already been driving for 20 mins...so i unpacked the car and then we went to the playground. I figured he wouldn't sleep long and still wanted to be outside!

He has discoverd that he can climb up the big playground and goes down the slide. I don't follow him up, but i do help him down the slide. He did manage to go down before I could catch him...and I think he surprised him, but he was fine. We ended with some swinging and off to home we went!
It was just so nice to relax and watch him play being a big boy! I throughly enjoyed every moment yesterday! I can't wait to spend more days with him like that!
