Normally, my 2 yr old is very well behaved even out in public. Well I needed to go to the mall this weekend. So I called my mom and sis and they came with me. Usually I can keep Avery in the stroller for most of the time, but not this time. he only lasted 5 mins. That's fine I will let me walk. We all took turns holding his hand and walking.
We grabbed some lunch and he snacked a bit. Then he basically ran wild the rest of the time..I sent my sister after him. Now if I remembered where the "leash" was it would have been a bit better.(btw, i found it after we left. it was conviently in Keith's car that I was driving!)
I ended up having to take him out of Babies R Us..it was the last store. Thank goodness, but the store I actually needed stuff in. I got another carseat base and a bed rail for Avery's new bed. He was pitching such a fit b/c he wanted a $35 toy. I didn't have the money for that plus my mom had already bought him a build a bear(aka dog). He wouldn't even let me put his coat on. So I handed my mom my money (and coupon) and out we went. I stepped outside and he stopped...talk about EVERYONE looking at you. Most were sympathetic moms with the look of "been there, done that". I then of course had to change him, but he was throwing such a fit that I didn't dare do it in the store. So I laid him in the trunk of the car...so it might have been a little cold! That shall teach him. By this time, my mom and sister were out of the store. Got him in teh carseat, and he was asleep 10 mins later.
Today he has also pitched a fit...a couple of times. I really think he knows there is a baby coming or something. He just always wants "mama". I have to put him to bed, change his diaper, bath, etc. daddy isn't minding too much! I also think maybe its b/c daddy has been busy working on his room so he hasn't really seen him much. Luckily we are done with that for now so daddy will be able to see him tomorrow night at least.
today he wanted juice before his lunch. Sometimes I give it to him...but usually he will chug the juice and not eat. So I asked him to take 1 bite of ravioli...nothing. screamed, pitched a fit, for a good 10 mins(long enough to feed Ja). meanwhile, J didn't seem to bothered by it and he went on to eat his lunch. I finally gave him, he got his juice, took a sip, and then proceeded to eat all 6 raviolis in record time!
Moral of this story...pick your battles!
