they don't really go together....but they do today!
On christmas Avery was sick...oh yes the pukey sick about 10 mins before 12 people were coming to my house. At this age you never know if they are really sick, they ate something, got too excited, or like avery does stick his finger down his mouth. We checked his temp and no temp. Changed his clothes and cleaned up the floor...did I mention it was in the bathroom a ft away from the toilet? Oh and Keith yells..."Heather he is puking" and what would you like me to do? so my preg. self with a not very strong stomach goes to clean it...Keith left the room! lol
One of the daycare kids had it over the weekend, but i thought maybe we had missed it being 4 days later! This boy had it for 4 days and i all i could think was great we will end up in the hospital b/c as the day went on, everytime he drank something it came right back up. I had the pleasure of getting it 3 times on myself.
Now 2 weeks later it seems Keith has gotten it...well he had it yesterday. He is just like a little kid when he is sick and I have to do things for him. I didn't mind as much b/c I didn't want him to expose Avery, J, or Holly. So I brought him stuff when he needed it. We thought maybe he had food poisoning but we aren't sure now...who really knows. At least he is back to work today b/c of course he has no sick or vacation time yet...plus he didn't get paid for the holidays so our pennies will be streched a little more.
After Avery's 2 yr appt we learned that he has low iron...still not gaining weight. So now he is on supplements and the plethora of do this not that that goes with it. Needs to be given on an empty stomach or small meals(all his meals are small!), no dairy products, vitamin c helps with absorption, and he needs it 2 times a day. Okay...so the one thing on the market that is "heathly fat" are dairy products. He still needs to gain weight so ive been trying to figure out a way around this. I was giving it to him at breakfast and bed...but not ive changed to lunch and bed.
At least he can get at least 2 cups of milk/yogurt in him...today i was reading his holy expensive yogurt and it has 45% daily value of iron in it...BUT how much is absorbed if the calcium blocks it? this really makes NO sense to me...and ive been struggling with not giving him that and then i read this...how does this world work?

hope the iron helps him... and hope the illness has left your house for good!!
Oh how I hate puke...
Yikes! I hope you can figure out the calcium, iron problem and I hope he feels better soon. It's so not fun when they are sick.
