seeing angels...

As most people that know me, know that my dad passed away 2 years ago coming in March. Boy does time fly...

Avery was only 4 months old when he passed and had only met my dad once for various reasons. Some that I still regret everyday, but I know I can't go back and deep in my heart my dad knows I forgive him. I still miss my dad like any child would...

I made a college of pictures for his funeral. I then hung it on our wall at the bottom of the stairs. Its mostly there so that Avery will see and recognize him, but not in a morbid spot.

I always refer to my dad as Grandpa or Grandpa Jeff. Avery will point to him and say grandpa when we come down the stairs.

One day I was bringing him down(well i was teaching him to go on his bum, in case I need another c/s can't bring him down the stairs) and he started saying "gramp gramp". I still to this day have NO idea where he got that from. I asked who was "gramp gramp" and he pointed to my dad...I said ok.

Well now he says it when my dad's picture isn't even around...so I ask him where gramp gramp is and the kid totally freaks me out by following with his finger in the air around the room. He has also done it with his eyes!! the thing that creeps me out the most about this is the fact that, Father Jeddie, the priest at church believes and says that babies can see angels...

Avery has also done quite a few things that remind us all of my dad. he knows all his tools even though NONE of us have every told them what they were.(hammer, wrench, screwdriver, drill,e tc) My dad was a carpenter and could fix anything...Avery also bangs and takes things apart just like my dad would. He even hammered his finger one day and I had to laugh b/c that is something my dad did ALL the time! He even decorated our xmas tree with his tools, even though he wanted NOTHING to do with puttin ornaments on. Again this is totally something my dad would do.

Avery's eyes also change color depending on the day and what he is wearing. He goes from green, brown, blue, or a combo of any of them. My dad's did the same thing! Talk about freaky!

I know we've already talked about this, but I totally believe kids have a connection that adults don't have. Though we'll never know for sure I guess.
